We then met back at the van (which was quite comfortable actually) and made our way back to the city. There was a gift shop and several farmers market style stands leading back to the parking area. We then had 30-45 minutes to explore on our own. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Robert then took us briefly through the Monastery providing interesting history and facts. We had a chance to use the restroom and get snacks at the small café next to where we were dropped off. I still recommend the trail ride to anyone who rarely does them.Īfter the trail ride, we were taken in a van to the Monastery where we reunited with Robert. The team stopped and took photos with a pretty backdrop for everyone which I thought was really nice. We essentially walked a trail and then walked it back, instead of a loop style trail. It last about an hour and I think I expected more impressive scenery. As someone who rode and competed for over 10 years, I found the trail ride to be a bit boring. Good instructions were provided for everyone who was not experienced by the super friendly ranch hands. The horses were very sweet and well trained. Robert took a hiking group and we were dropped off at the ranch. He also gave us some history and fun facts about certain areas we drove through on our way out of the city. Robert greeted us at the meeting point and was super friendly. I am a very experienced competitive rider so I was excited to see some of the area on horseback.
